Turmeric milk is a traditional age-old Ayurvedic recipe famously known today as Golden Milk. Turmeric is a super root in Ayurveda with health altering benefits. It is of heating nature and hence balances Vata and Kapha. It is dry, pungent and slightly bitter which gives is its Kapha balancing properties. Loaded in anti-oxidants, turmeric milk reduces joint inflammation and pain, helps in digestion, boosts immunity, aids in heart health and blood sugar management. The bioactive compound in Turmeric which lends its medicinal values is Curcumin. To increase its bio-availability it is best consumed with spices like black pepper, cardamon and cinnamon.
